1. Introduction
This Licensing Policy describes the license a Buyer receives when they purchase a Digital Product on eBodhya Marketplace: the available license types, what you may and may not do under each, how long a license lasts, and how we verify and enforce license scope. Purchasing a Digital Product never transfers ownership of it — it grants you a license, and this Policy is the definitive statement of what that license permits.
2. Definitions
This document uses the shared definitions in Anomaa Studio's canonical definitions list and the Marketplace-specific terms defined in the Privacy Policy Section 2 and Buyer Terms Section 2, together with:
- "Single-Teacher/Individual License" — a license for use by one named individual, in their own classroom or personal practice.
- "Classroom License" — a license for use by one teacher with the students in a defined, single classroom or section.
- "School-Wide License" — a license for use across all eligible staff or students of a single school campus.
- "District/Institution License" — a license for use across all eligible staff or students of a multi-campus institution or district.
- "White-Label Resale" — repackaging or reselling a Digital Product, with or without modification, under a different brand or as part of a separately sold product.
3. Applicability
This Policy applies to every Digital Product purchased on the Marketplace and to every Buyer who holds a license over one.
4. Legal Entity
eBodhya™ is a trademark owned and used by Anomaa Studio, a sole proprietorship business based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("Anomaa Studio," "eBodhya," "we," "us," or "our"). Anomaa Studio owns and operates the entire eBodhya suite of platforms, comprising:
- eBodhya Studio — studio.ebodhya.in
- eBodhya Marketplace — marketplace.ebodhya.in
- eBodhya Schools — schools.ebodhya.in

(together, the "eBodhya Platforms").
Every account, subscription, order, listing, or agreement created or entered into through any eBodhya Platform is an agreement with Anomaa Studio directly. No eBodhya Platform is owned, operated by, or offered on behalf of any third party, franchisee, reseller, school district, or unrelated entity, unless we state so expressly and in writing. eBodhya™ and the eBodhya logo are trademarks of Anomaa Studio; no license to use them is granted except as expressly permitted in writing.
In this document, "the Platform" means eBodhya Marketplace (marketplace.ebodhya.in) specifically, and "eBodhya" or the "eBodhya Platforms" means the wider suite of products described above. Where this document imposes obligations on "Anomaa Studio," those obligations are undertaken by Anomaa Studio in its capacity as operator of the Platform.
5. Available License Types
Each Listing states which license tier(s) it is sold under. Unless a Listing states otherwise:
| License Type | Scope |
|---|---|
| Single-Teacher / Individual License | One named individual, for their own classroom or personal use. Not transferable to another individual without our consent. |
| Classroom License | One teacher, for use with the students of one defined classroom or section, for the duration stated on the Listing. |
| School-Wide License | All eligible staff (and, where the Listing states, students) of a single named school campus, provisioned through an Institution Account. |
| District/Institution License | All eligible staff (and, where the Listing states, students) across a named multi-campus institution or district, provisioned through an Institution Account. |
White-Label Resale is prohibited by default. You may not repackage, rebrand, or resell a purchased Digital Product, in whole or in part, as your own product or under a different brand, unless the Listing expressly grants White-Label Resale rights.
6. Permitted Uses
Within the scope of the license tier you purchased, you may: download, print, and use the Digital Product for teaching, learning, or assessment purposes with the individuals covered by your license; make copies reasonably necessary for classroom use by those covered individuals (for example, printing worksheets for students in a licensed Classroom); and retain a personal archive copy for your own record-keeping.
7. Prohibited Uses
Regardless of license tier, you may not: remove, obscure, or alter attribution, copyright notices, or watermarks on a Digital Product; redistribute, share, upload, or resell a Digital Product outside the scope of your license (for example, sharing a Single-Teacher License file with an entire staff, or posting it publicly online); use a Digital Product to create a directly competing product for sale; or engage in White-Label Resale without an express grant under Section 5. A violation of this Section is a breach of these Terms and may result in license revocation and Account enforcement under the Acceptable Use Policy.
8. License Duration
A license is either: perpetual-access — you retain access to the version of the Digital Product purchased indefinitely, subject to the Digital Download Policy re-download provisions; or subscription-term access — you retain access only for the active term of a Subscription Plan, and access ends (subject to any grace period we state) when the Subscription lapses or is canceled. The Listing specifies which applies; where it does not, the license is treated as perpetual-access for a one-time purchase and subscription-term for a recurring Subscription Plan.
9. License Verification and Enforcement
We may verify license scope through Account records, download logs, and Seat allocation records (for School-Wide and District/Institution Licenses), and may use automated detection described in the AI Usage Policy to identify likely license violations such as mass redistribution. Where we find a violation, we may revoke the license, suspend the Account responsible, and pursue remedies available under Applicable Law, without refunding amounts already paid.
10. Upgrade Path Between License Tiers
If your use has outgrown your current license tier (for example, a Classroom License being used school-wide), you can upgrade by purchasing the higher tier through the Listing or by contacting support@ebodhya.in; where we offer it, we will credit the price already paid toward the cost of the higher tier for the same Digital Product, calculated at the time of upgrade.
11. Privacy
Personal Data used to verify your identity, allocate Seats, and enforce license scope under this Policy is Processed in accordance with eBodhya Marketplace's Privacy Policy. Please review the Privacy Policy for the categories of data involved and your rights as a Data Principal.
12. AI
Not separately applicable beyond the license-verification use described in Section 9; see the AI Usage Policy.
13. Data Processing
License and Seat allocation records are Processed under the Privacy Policy.
14. Cookies
Not separately applicable; see the Cookie Policy.
15. Third-Party Services
Not separately applicable beyond the sub-processors identified in the Privacy Policy.
16. Security
License keys, download links, and Seat provisioning are protected as described in the Security Statement; do not share these credentials outside your licensed scope.
17. Retention
License and Seat allocation records are retained per the Data Retention Policy for as long as needed to verify and enforce license scope.
18. Deletion
Deleting your Account does not revoke a license already granted for a Digital Product you purchased before deletion, though your ability to re-download it through the Marketplace UI may end; see the Data Deletion Policy.
19. Intellectual Property
This Policy governs only the scope of use granted to a Buyer; it does not transfer copyright or other Intellectual Property Rights, which remain with the Seller as described in the Intellectual Property Policy.
20. User Responsibilities
You must use a purchased Digital Product only within your license scope, keep watermarks and attribution intact, and, for an Institution Account, allocate Seats only to individuals within your own organization.
21. Prohibited Activities
See Section 7 above and the Acceptable Use Policy.
22. Limitation of Liability
Our liability in connection with licensing matters is limited as described in the Terms of Service.
23. Disclaimer
We provide license verification and enforcement on a reasonable-efforts basis and do not guarantee detection of every violation.
24. Termination
A license granted before your Account is closed generally survives Account closure for a perpetual-access license, subject to Section 17; a subscription-term license ends when the underlying Subscription ends or is canceled.
25. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Changes
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Licensing Policy and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to it, the Platform, or the Services (a "Dispute") is governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
The parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve any Dispute through informal negotiation for thirty (30) days after one party gives the other written notice of the Dispute. If the Dispute is not resolved within that period, it will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Bengaluru, Karnataka, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, before a sole arbitrator appointed by Anomaa Studio. The arbitration will be conducted in English, and the seat and venue of arbitration will be Bengaluru, Karnataka. The award of the arbitrator will be final and binding on the parties.
Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief before a competent court at any time. Subject to the arbitration agreement above, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any Dispute not subject to arbitration and over any proceeding to enforce an arbitral award.
Jurisdiction
Without prejudice to the arbitration agreement above, the Platform is directed at Users in India, and Anomaa Studio makes no representation that the Platform or its Content is appropriate or lawfully available in other locations. Users who access the Platform from outside India do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.
Changes to This Licensing Policy
We may update this Licensing Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Services, Applicable Law, or our practices. We will post the revised version on the Platform with an updated "Effective Date" and, for material changes, will provide reasonable advance notice through the Platform, by email, or by an in-product notice, as appropriate to the change and the audience of the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the revised Licensing Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the changes. Where Applicable Law requires your express consent to a change (for example, a material change to how we Process Personal Data of a Child), we will seek that consent before the change takes effect.
