1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how eBodhya Marketplace uses cookies and similar tracking technologies, why we use them, and how you can manage or withdraw your consent. It applies to every Buyer, Seller, and Institution/School purchaser who visits or uses the Marketplace, whether or not they hold an Account.
2. Definitions
This Policy uses the shared definitions in Anomaa Studio's canonical definitions list, together with:
- "Cookie" — a small text file placed on your device by the Marketplace or a Third-Party Service to store information about your visit.
- "Session Cookie" — a Cookie that is deleted automatically when you close your browser.
- "Persistent Cookie" — a Cookie that remains on your device for a set period, or until you delete it, so it can recognize you on a return visit.
3. Applicability
This Policy applies to all cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) set through the Marketplace website and related checkout and account pages.
4. Legal Entity
eBodhya™ is a trademark owned and used by Anomaa Studio, a sole proprietorship business based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India ("Anomaa Studio," "eBodhya," "we," "us," or "our"). Anomaa Studio owns and operates the entire eBodhya suite of platforms, comprising:

- eBodhya Marketplace — marketplace.ebodhya.in
- eBodhya Schools — schools.ebodhya.in

(together, the "eBodhya Platforms").
Every account, subscription, order, listing, or agreement created or entered into through any eBodhya Platform is an agreement with Anomaa Studio directly. No eBodhya Platform is owned, operated by, or offered on behalf of any third party, franchisee, reseller, school district, or unrelated entity, unless we state so expressly and in writing. eBodhya™ and the eBodhya logo are trademarks of Anomaa Studio; no license to use them is granted except as expressly permitted in writing.
In this document, "the Platform" means eBodhya Marketplace (marketplace.ebodhya.in) specifically, and "eBodhya" or the "eBodhya Platforms" means the wider suite of products described above. Where this document imposes obligations on "Anomaa Studio," those obligations are undertaken by Anomaa Studio in its capacity as operator of the Platform.
5. Categories of Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Can you disable? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential / Session | Required for core functions: keeping you signed in, maintaining your cart, processing checkout, and preventing fraud. | Session ID, cart ID, CSRF token | No — these are strictly necessary and are not switched off by the consent banner; disabling them in your browser will break checkout. |
| Functional / Preferences | Remember your settings, such as language, saved filters, and recently viewed Listings. | Preference cookies | Yes, via cookie settings; disabling may reduce convenience. |
| Analytics | Understand aggregate usage — which Listings, categories, and search terms are popular — so we can improve the Marketplace. | Analytics provider cookies (see Privacy Policy) | Yes, via the consent banner or cookie settings. |
| Personalization (Recommendations) | Power the recommendation engine that suggests Listings based on your browsing and purchase history, as described in the AI Usage Policy. | Recommendation cookies | Yes; disabling will make recommendations generic rather than personalized. |
Advertising cookies. The Marketplace does not currently use third-party advertising or ad-retargeting cookies. If we introduce such cookies in the future, we will update this Policy, seek any consent required by Applicable Law, and offer an opt-out before they are set.
6. Consent Mechanics
On your first visit, we present a cookie banner that lets you accept all non-essential cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customize your choice by category. We do not set Analytics or Personalization cookies until you provide consent, consistent with the DPDP Act's consent requirements. Essential/Session cookies are set regardless of your choice, as they are necessary to operate the Marketplace and are not based on consent.
7. AI
Personalization cookies feed the recommendation engine and search ranking described in the AI Usage Policy. No cookie data is used to make automated decisions that produce a legal or similarly significant effect on you without the safeguards described in that Policy.
8. Data Processing
Data collected via cookies is Personal Data where it can be linked to you, and is Processed under the Privacy Policy and the DPDP Act.
9. Managing and Withdrawing Consent
You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time through the cookie settings link in the Marketplace footer, or through your browser's cookie controls. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of Processing before withdrawal and does not affect Essential/Session cookies needed to use the Marketplace.
10. Third-Party Services
Analytics and, where applicable, recommendation-engine infrastructure may be provided by third-party processors who set their own cookies under contract with us. See the Privacy Policy for the categories of sub-processors involved.
11. Security
Cookies used for authentication and checkout are transmitted securely and are subject to the safeguards described in the Security Statement.
12. Retention
Session Cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent Cookies expire on a defined schedule (typically between 30 days and 24 months depending on purpose) or when you delete them, consistent with the Data Retention Policy.
13. Deletion
You may delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Deleting cookies may sign you out or reset saved preferences. See the Data Deletion Policy for how this interacts with Account-level deletion requests.
14. Intellectual Property
Not separately applicable to this Policy; see the Intellectual Property Policy.
15. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for managing your browser and device cookie settings and for understanding that disabling certain cookies may limit Marketplace functionality.
16. Prohibited Activities
You may not use cookies, scripts, or similar technology to interfere with, scrape, or manipulate the Marketplace's operation, analytics, or recommendation systems; see the Acceptable Use Policy.
17. Limitation of Liability
Our liability in connection with cookies is limited as described in the Terms of Service.
18. Disclaimer
Cookie-based features, including recommendations, are provided "as is" for convenience and may not always reflect your preferences accurately.
19. Termination
This Policy continues to apply to cookies already set until they expire or are deleted, even after Account closure.
20. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
This Cookie Policy and any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to it, the Platform, or the Services (a "Dispute") is governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
The parties will first attempt in good faith to resolve any Dispute through informal negotiation for thirty (30) days after one party gives the other written notice of the Dispute. If the Dispute is not resolved within that period, it will be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Bengaluru, Karnataka, under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, before a sole arbitrator appointed by Anomaa Studio. The arbitration will be conducted in English, and the seat and venue of arbitration will be Bengaluru, Karnataka. The award of the arbitrator will be final and binding on the parties.
Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or equitable relief before a competent court at any time. Subject to the arbitration agreement above, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any Dispute not subject to arbitration and over any proceeding to enforce an arbitral award.
21. Jurisdiction
Without prejudice to the arbitration agreement above, the Platform is directed at Users in India, and Anomaa Studio makes no representation that the Platform or its Content is appropriate or lawfully available in other locations. Users who access the Platform from outside India do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.
22. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Services, Applicable Law, or our practices. We will post the revised version on the Platform with an updated "Effective Date" and, for material changes, will provide reasonable advance notice through the Platform, by email, or by an in-product notice, as appropriate to the change and the audience of the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after the revised Cookie Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the changes. Where Applicable Law requires your express consent to a change (for example, a material change to how we Process Personal Data of a Child), we will seek that consent before the change takes effect.
